Anyone who has been enrolled (full-time or part-time) in a higher education program for three years cannot enroll in a full-time higher vocational education program. In the case of enrollment restrictions, candidates applying for full-time studies who have not previously been enrolled in higher vocational or higher education in the Republic of Slovenia have priority.
The Act Amending the Higher Vocational Education Act, in Article 36 of the transitional provisions, stipulates that, regardless of the provisions governing the right to full-time education and the rights associated with student status, students who held this status at the time the Act came into force can complete their education under the conditions that were in place before its implementation. Therefore, students who were enrolled in the 2013/2014 academic year in a full-time or part-time higher vocational study program can complete their studies under the conditions applicable at the time of their enrollment.
Candidates who have been enrolled in higher education programs for three years cannot enroll in full-time higher vocational education. In cases of enrollment limitations, candidates who have never been enrolled in full-time studies in higher vocational or higher education in Slovenia have priority. Transitional provisions allow students who were enrolled in studies up to and including the 2013/2014 academic year to complete their education under the previous conditions.
If you have previously been enrolled in a university for three or more years, you can only enroll in a higher vocational school part-time. Two study modes are offered: FULL-TIME and PART-TIME. Distance learning is only a form of part-time study provided by some schools. To apply for distance learning, choose the PART-TIME study option!
No, there is no age limit.
Yes, but if accepted into full-time studies, they must attend lectures and complete academic obligations alongside full-time students. Completing academic obligations is essential for progression and graduation. Note that under Article 41 of the Higher Vocational Education Act, employed students cannot claim other benefits associated with student status (e.g., student meals, scholarships, health insurance).
No. Only candidates who have completed a 4-year, 3+2, or 5-year secondary school are eligible. Alternatively, candidates who have passed a master craftsman, foreman, or managerial exam, along with a proficiency test (in Slovenian and mathematics or a foreign language) and have three years of work experience, may apply.

ENROLLMENT LIMITATIONS
By April 26, 2025, at the latest, on the website of the Higher Vocational Admissions Office and the Ministry of Education. In the case of enrollment limitations, candidates who have not previously been enrolled in full-time higher vocational or higher education programs in Slovenia have priority.

SECONDARY SCHOOL GRADUATION CERTIFICATES
You must send proof if:
- You completed secondary school before June 2002,
- You passed a master craftsman, managerial, or foreman exam,
- You have completed or will complete an international matura.

STORAGE AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE ELECTRONIC APPLICATION
The data submitted by an individual with the electronic application for enrolment at the webspage https://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/visjesole/ are stored in the eVŠ information system, which is managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
Data from applications for enrolment are used by Short-Cycle Higher Collagesfor the purposes of the selection procedure for enrolment, as stipulated in the Short-Cycle Higher Vocational Education Act and the Rules for Enrolment in Short-Cycle Higher Vocational Education and are further specified in the call for enrolment.
Data on applications for enrolment in eVŠ may only be accessed by authorised persons of the Short-Cycle Higher Collage and the eVŠ administrator. Each Short-Cycle Higher Collage may only access data on applications for enrolment for its own study programmes.
Data collected with an application for enrolment is stored in the eVŠ information system until enrolment or until the expiry of appeal procedures, after which it is archived in an anonymised form. Until the data is anonymised, an individual can access their data via the electronic application for enrolment.
Data on completed applications for enrolment are forwarded from eVŠ to Short-Cycle Higher Collages , which process this data in accordance with Article 56 of the Short-Cycle Higher Vocational Education Act. Short-Cycle Higher Collages cease processing data for applicants on the day of enrolment in the study programme or upon expiry of the appeal procedure. For enrolled students, Short-Cycle Higher Collagesstore personal data in their records of enrolled students, namely from the day of enrolment in the study programme until the day of withdrawal or the day of completion of studies.
During the period of data storage – that is, until the anonymisation or deletion of data – an individual may request their data from the administrator of the information system in which the data is stored to correct it if they find that it is inaccurate and to restrict its processing until the data has been corrected.
