Information for Foreign Nationals

If you have completed your secondary education outside Slovenia, do not attach any supporting documents to your application (even if your foreign educational qualifications have already been recognised). However, you must send the following supporting documents to the Short-Cycle Higher Collage you have indicated as your first preference:

  • a certified copy of your final secondary school leaving certificate;
  • a certified Slovenian translation of your final secondary school leaving certificate;
  • a certified copy of the certificate from your penultimate year at secondary school;
  • a certified Slovenian translation of the certificate from your penultimate year at secondary school;
  • a certified copy of the certificate from your last year at secondary school;
  • a certified Slovenian translation of the certificate from your last year at secondary school;
  • a copy of an identification document (passport or identity card);
  • a chronological description of previous education;
  • a completed application for recognition of education obtained abroad (form N).

Candidates who have completed their education outside Slovenia must send their supporting documents by 18 March 2025 (first application period) or 27 August 2025 (second application period).

Candidates who will complete their education outside Slovenia must send their supporting documents by 3 July 2025 (first application period) or 11 September 2025 (second application period).

A Short-Cycle Higher Collage will carry out an education recognition procedure and issue you with a decision determining whether you meet the education-related requirements prescribed for enrolment in the study programme for which you are applying. It will then notify the Short-Cycle Higher Education Admissions Service (SCHEAS) accordingly.

For certificates from the former Yugoslav republics obtained before 25 June 1991, there is no requirement for a procedure to be carried out for the recognition of education or for a decision on compliance with the conditions laid down for enrolment in a study programme. Enclose a certified photocopy of the final certificate and a certified certificate from the last 2 years of secondary school with the application. An International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma is equivalent to a school leaving certificate obtained in Slovenia.
